Update on 86+ Leagues SBC for TOTY

A significant development regarding the 86+ Leagues SBC for Team of the Year (TOTY) has emerged, creating ripples of discussion within the FIFA Ultimate Team community.

On January 30th, at precisely 10 am PST, a Squad Building Challenge (SBC) was unleashed, promising an untradeable reward with an overall rating of 86 or higher. This SBC encompassed 13 leagues, each of which included at least one TOTY Player Item.

However, it's important to note that two of these leagues featured only a single item that matched the 86+ overall rating threshold. These leagues were the Rest Of World and MLS.

The SBC's lifespan was fleeting, to say the least. It remained active for a mere 24 minutes before being abruptly removed from circulation due to the identification of a design issue.

In the brief period that the SBC was live, an estimated 0.7% of Ultimate Team players managed to secure a highly sought-after TOTY Messi item.

The sudden removal of the SBC understandably triggered frustration and disappointment within the Ultimate Team Community. We recognize these sentiments and extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We also wish to express our gratitude for your patience during this time.

In response to this situation, we have thoroughly examined various scenarios to chart a path forward that is equitable and ensures the long-term health of the game. Here's what we can confirm:

  • Players who successfully completed the SBC while it was available will retain their hard-earned rewards.

  • Regrettably, the SBC will not be reinstated in its original form, as initially intended.
